Good interior condition, except for some rare freckles. The history of the Netherlands by Pontus HEUTERUS of Delft (1535-1602) is divided into 5 books. The first is dedicated to the origin of the Dukes of Burgundy, the second to Philip the Bold, the third to John the Fearless, the fourth to Philip the Good, the fifth to Charles the Bold. The sixth book presented as a separate publication, with its own title, was sold with the first five. It contains the genealogy of the families of France and the Netherlands. Heuterus was the first to produce a national history of the Netherlands. And the first to use the auxiliary sciences of numismatics and etymology for this purpose.
