A series of lithographed color plates on Egyptomania, printe - Lot 28
A series of lithographed color plates on Egyptomania, printed by Firmin-Didot & Cie circa 1925, including reproductions of 16th-18th historical textiles, Assyrian, Egyptian, Greco-Roman, Byzantine, in about fifty pieces (23 x 32 cm). About twenty World Culture plates are included, including Coptic fabrics, kalamkari, suzani, carpets and porcelain. From the archives of Jean-Louis Lhopital, designer in Lyon, 17 Rue Royale between 1920 and 1940. All book plates have been detached for documentation and inspiration, to form themes (yellowing, blemishes, small stains and tears).
