Remarkable Chape Pluvial in satin-edged lampas, Italy, late 17th century. Consisting of two cream-based lampas with polychrome decoration arranged in six 49 cm wide strips with selvedges. Bordered by fringed yellow silk trimmings with two pass-through buttons on the hood. Under the hood, a lampas edged with a gros de Tours background. Partial lining in cream glacé linen. Minor repairs to shoulders, some weaknesses and microstains. Stable condition. Very rare piece. 298 cm x 142 cm.
