A coupon of cream or champagne moiré silk faille, Lyonnais work for haute couture or prestige furnishings, first half of the 20th century. Excellent condition. Width 131 cm complete with selvedges, 225 cm long. The moiré effect is the result of distorting and crushing the weft mechanically on a roller, a Lyonnais invention from the Grande fabrique since the early 18th century.
