Caraco or supple body in brocaded French faille with brown background, Louis XV period Circa 1750. Unstuffed caraco à la négligé, small basques with pet-en-l'air, three-quarter bent sleeves trimmed with a salmon silk ribbon. Unbleached linen lining (slight yellowing). Faille silk (from the Lyon or Tours factories) with large bouquets and tassels of passementerie, cut in the same order as the seams. Designed to be worn over a rigid body or with a stomach piece. Very slight depigmentation of the brown faille, but unmodified object and silk without damage. Very good color and condition. height 55 cm, shoulders 35 cm, sleeves 41 cm, chest 84 cm, waist 71 cm.
