A French-style dress, coat and skirt in sky-blue Florence ta - Lot 236

A French-style dress, coat and skirt in sky-blue Florence taffeta with stripes and edging of floral bouquets Circa 1785-1790, from a noble Provencal family. Coat with Watteau-style pleats in the back, English-crossed front and three-quarter length sleeves with pleated silk ruches. Falbalas pleated all around with two-tone passementerie crest. Unbleached glacé linen lining. Skirt with falbalas in front and linen yoke on non-visible parts (waistband not original). The skirt lining is in rouennerie of small red and white checks. Dress unmodified and in original condition. Stains at the bottom of the train, a few tiny rust stains and water spots on the skirt, otherwise no holes and very strong silk. Beautiful condition in terms of color and conservation. Height 145 cm, shoulders 32 cm, chest 90 cm, waist 76 cm, sleeves 49 cm. The brown corset in the photos is not included in the sale.
