Elegant Romantic-period vest in wool and silk against a coral background Circa 1840. High-waisted cut, shawl collar, two pockets and double-breasted buttoning with ten chased brass buttons. Coral twill background with delicate undulating plant stems. Very fine colored piping all around (small misses at bottom). Back and lining in ecru brushed cotton. Good overall condition. Equivalent to men's size 50. 40 cm shoulders, 96 cm chest, 47 cm height, 96 cm waist.
