A grenadine silk shawl woven with wide brown and yellow stripes of a semiset of florettes on a black ground Circa 1860. Produced in Lyon or Stéphano during the Second Empire, this type of silk chiffon shawl with double twists of the warp threads was known as soie Grenadine. Bangs tied with silk cordonnets on all four sides. Beautifully stiff silk. Very good color and condition. 160 cm x 160 cm.
