Two 19th century silk taffeta day bodices. The first in mauve and pink changeable taffeta with pagoda sleeves, circa 1855 (discoloration to sleeves). Front closure with period hooks and facing of fifteen emerald-green silk passementerie bell buttons. Chamois cotton twill lining. Good structural condition. Shoulders 48 cm, chest 85 cm, waist 67 cm, height 48 cm. The second in black faille with brocaded semis of flowers and wheat circa 1875. Small basques and three-quarter sleeves with pleated silk ribbons and chestnut bows, fastened in front by eight passementerie buttons echoing the ribbons. Ecru chintz lining. Good overall condition. Shoulders 43 cm, chest 99 cm, waist 82 cm, height 49 cm, sleeves 32 cm.
