Elegant two-piece dress for strap-set tournure, in blue-canard velvet with beige mechanical lace falbalas, signed Madame Bonnet, 7 Rue Drouot Paris Circa 1885. Whalebone bodice with high collar and three-quarter-length sleeves, with low-cut corset scalloped at the hips, laced and stapled at the front. Falbalas with several rows of bouillonné lace adorn the décolleté, collar and engaging sleeves, highlighted with blue satin ribbons and piping. The skirt features three rows of lace at the bottom, adorned with velvet and taffeta pendants with small passementerie tassels. Impressive bag line in cream taffeta printed on floret chain, draped in front and with large bouillonnés on the loins (taffeta cutout at waist and rust pitting). Lined with cream silk pongee for the bodice (yellowing at the shoulders) and tarlatan with fine organza pleats for the underskirt (missing staples at the waist). Enclosed is its blue cardboard box with ribbon scraps, pearl case, satin neckband, and handwritten leaf with provenance. No major defects. Good overall condition. Bodice: shoulder 36 cm, waist 51 cm, bust 79 cm, sleeves 42 cm,. Skirt: height 102 cm, waist 63 cm, hips 120 cm.
