Champagne velvet panne Djellaba evening coat, probably Haute Couture Circa 1930. Rectangular orientalist structure with wide pleats forming a shoulder-length pelérine. Two side slits for the hands to play with the drape, ending in a mini-traine behind. Eggshell crepe lining. This Djellaba is reminiscent of 1920s couturiers inspired by the orientalism of the Ballets Russes, such as Babani, Gallenga and Paul Poiret. The shimmering velvet panne oscillates between champagne and powder pink. No flaws apart from a stitch on the collar. Good overall condition. Large size. Shoulder width 99 cm, height 132 cm, coat circumference 260 cm.
