(4)-569-(2) pages. Paperback, in printed cover. Scattered foxing, otherwise good condition. First edition in French (E.O. in Italian: 1793). "Rosalba Carriera (Rosa-Alba Carriera), also known as la Rosalba, gained a certain reputation for her works and especially for her pastel portraits. She came to Paris in 1720, at the height of the Regency, and kept a diary of her trip. Welcomed at court, where her pastels were all the rage, she was in contact with the highest society of the time; so her diary, in addition to containing a wealth of artistic information, contains valuable insights into the Parisian movement of the time". 2.
