DRIOU (A.): Renaissance parish priest. Paris, Gruel and Engelman, n.d. (circa 1870). A box containing the Paroissien, a wallet and a dance card. Box of 30 by 19 cm, interior in velvet and silk, top of the box in black chagrin, cold monogrammed M P. Luxury books and amateur bindings A. Roux, Lyon. In the sense: bindings for amateurs, of course. Paroissien: 9.5 by 14.5 cm. 360 pages. Full black morocco, spine 5 ribs, double fillet on cut, wide inside lace, monogrammed silk endpaper M P. Two very pretty silver (or silver?) metal clasps, all gold edges. Each page has a frame illustrated with allegorical motifs, different on each page, black hors-texte, and 3 chromolithographies in colours. Wallet of 7,5 by 5 cm, in full black morocco, and clasp in silver plated metal (or silver?). Ball notebook of 10,5 by 7 cm, full black morocco, with double clasps in silvery metal (or silver?), complete with its mechanical pencil. Binding signed Auguste PETIT. A very beautiful copy of a box offered to the communicants, recalling the three traditional duties of the young girl: piety (the Parish), charity (the purse, to give to the poor), and marriage (the ball notebook) Other times
