1982 - BMW 320/6 E21 - Lot 56
1982 - BMW 320/6 E21 Chassis n°WBAAH1105C6975853 - Model whose mechanics is a milestone in the BMW reputation - Vehicle in an exceptional state of preservation - Impressive history file - Low original mileage - Perfectly maintained collector's item The 3 series E21, heir of the 02 series from which it takes the principle of a 3-door compact car with elegant lines and dynamic mechanics, is presented at the 1975 Munich Motor Show. The car being a little heavier than its predecessor, in order to keep top performances for the time, the propeller brand equips this model with two six cylinders in line in 1977. These engines in addition to constituting the top of the range series 3 type E21, took part in the construction of the image of mark BMW, already recognized like motorist. Of 2 L with carburator double body reversed and of 2,3L with mechanical injection Bosch K-Jetronic, these two blocks develop respectively 122 HP and 143 HP. They thus made it possible to obtain maximum power from a minimum displacement. This approach is still more than ever relevant today and this explains why the idea of implementing this excellent in-line 6-cylinder engine in a small car that is both elegant and sporty, while being easy to drive, has been acclaimed and has undergone numerous evolutions. The proposed car is a 3 series type E21 phase 2 in its 1990 cc 6-cylinder carburettor version (M20B20) with manual gearbox. It was put on the road on July 19, 1982 and used for a few months as a management vehicle, before being delivered to its first owner at the end of 1982. This one keeps the car preciously, during more than 27 years until 2004 by travelling a little more than 61000 km on board. The car then knew 5 owners, before the last one bought it in 2020, each of them keeping it for a few years, all of them trying to maintain it in its original condition and completing its history file as and when necessary. The current owner, a particularly demanding enthusiast, has had some mechanical and aesthetic work done to ensure that the car is in perfect condition. The timing kit and the accessory belt are replaced, the ignition, the carburetor and the automatic choke screw are adjusted, the rims are repainted and the 4 tires are changed, as well as a complete detailling is done. So this 320/6 E21, in its original "Alpinweiss" white color (0146) with "Pacifique blue" upholstery (0092/0121), is now in immaculate condition. Compared to its factory configuration, only the probably initially yellow headlights have been replaced by more efficient white ones and the Solex carburetor, which will be supplied with the car, substituted by a Weber. This 320/6 has less than 79500 original kilometers, which is a rather low mileage considering its age and compared to similar cars often with very high mileage. Because of its history, it is in excellent condition both mechanically and aesthetically, and has a high degree of authenticity as well as an impressive history file. Indeed, in addition to various documents, the car will be delivered with its purchase order and its purchase invoice of 1982, as well as its maintenance booklet and its thick file of invoices, without forgetting its user's manual and the dealers' booklet in their BMW pocket. The accessories and the spare keys are also part of the equipment that will be given to the buyer of this exceptional 3 series E21 320/6. This is a vehicle to be collected urgently and will be true to the BMW slogan, undoubtedly providing a lot of "driving pleasure" to its future owner.
