Translated from the Swedish, with notes by the translator. Paris, Fuchs Libraire, An III (1794). One volume. 12 by 19,5 cm. XII-532 pages. Slightly posterior half-basecloth, smooth spine. Lacks of leather on the binding, top cap worn. A lack on the 2nd plate. Scattered foxing in the text, some pages browned. Fair condition. With a Japanese dictionary at the end of the book. Carl Peter THUNBERG, nicknamed the Swedish Linnaeus, made a long naturalist expedition, where between 1770 and 1779, he went to the Cape, then to Java, Japan, then to Ceylon. He made a very detailed report of his trip.
