(Blanqui) (1830 - 1848) TASCHEREAU (Jules-Antoine): Retrospective review or secret archives of the last government. Non-periodical collection [from n° 1 to n° 32-33 (appendix)]. Paris, Paulin, March 1848. One volume. 18 by 27 cm. (4)-523-(1) pages. Contemporary half-basin, spine decorated (slightly faded), boards worn, cardboard missing from 1 cut, corners dull. Scattered foxing, small wetness in the ext. margin of about twenty leaves. All that has appeared of this important journal. The last two issues are scarce (appendix 32-33). "Publication of high historical curiosity, similar to the "Papiers secrets des Tuileries" published after the 1870 war. It is the collection of secret documents, private correspondence, police reports and others, found in the Tuileries and in the ministries after the Revolution of 1848. One meets there all kind of documents: Correspondence of Louis-Philippe with his family, his agents, etc. -Correspondence of the ministers with Louis-Philippe. -Pieces and reports on the secret funds; the Spanish marriages; the marriage of Miss de Berry; the endowment of the Duke of Nemours; Mazzini; Don Carlos; the Praslin affair; the death of the Duke of Orleans; the marriages of the Duke of Nemours and the Duke of Aumale; of the Duke of Monpensier; on the Contemporary (Ida de St. Elme); Decazes; Guizot; Queen Isabella, etc.." The first issue contains the famous statements attributed to Auguste Blanqui, known as the Taschereau document, which accused Blanqui of treason (see Dommanget, Blanqui p. 12).
