Paris seen from the propylaea of the Arc de Triomphe square Watercolor engraving Empire period 29 x 41 cm Gilded stucco frame decorated with palmettes (fading) This engraving shows one of the famous gates of the octroi, a belt that made "Paris murmur", which historians make a direct cause of the revolution and to which Lavoisier had to lose his head.
