1983 - Citroën 2CV France 3 French circulation... - Lot 103 - Richard Maison de ventes
1983 - Citroën 2CV France 3 French circulation permit Chassis n° VF7AZKA0093KA5789 - Limited edition of a French car icon - Real second hand with complete history - Nice original condition and good working order - Service booklet and manuals in their pocket The Citroën 2CV that we are pleased to present for sale is a special variation of a French automotive monument. Before the Second World War, "four wheels under an umbrella" was the specification for a project that would see the light of day after the conflict. In a context of shortage of resources used for the war effort, the 2 horses is presented at the Paris Salon of 1948. The car received a lukewarm reception because of its design, which was considered too rustic. However, Citroën's decision to prioritize sales in rural areas helped fill the order book. In the 1980s, despite its reputation as a car with an aging architecture, the 2CV continued to sell nearly 100,000 units each year. Citroën, wishing to give a new impetus to the range, launched several special and limited series. The "France 3" version, named after the famous French sailing boat entered in the America's Cup, was released in 1983. Built on a 2CV6 base, it was produced in a "Blanc Meije" livery with an adhesive decoration of ocean blue waves on the hood, the boot door and the hood with internal closure. Equipped with the indefatigable and legendary 602 cc air-cooled twin-cylinder engine developing 29 horsepower, the cruising speed of this iodized 2CV is given for 62 knots, or 115 km/h. Its production will be spread out from 1983 to 1984 with a total of 4000 examples built in the historical factory of Levallois-Perret. The 2CV that we offer for sale is one of these special, limited, and particularly desirable series. Delivered new in May 1983 by the Citroën dealer of Bourgoin-Jallieu in Isère, it is a second hand car, with less than 47 000 km. Genuine, this car is in a good condition, inside and outside. The maintenance booklet and the file of invoices available also attest to a rigorous and regular maintenance in the Citroën network until the early 2000s. The current owner, an enlightened enthusiast, has used the car regularly and has given it the necessary attention to ensure that it is in good mechanical condition. This allows to consider a regular use in all serenity. After the catalog pictures, the car has been painted on various body parts (AVG wing, ARD wing and door) to improve its aesthetic condition. A light cosmetic preparation will allow to find an attractive example while keeping a flattering patina for its 40 years. An exclusive series that has become rare for sale in this original condition and with a complete history file, this example of 2CV France 3, a real time machine, offers an immediate boarding to a public both trendy and in search of authenticity.
