1988 - Porsche 944 Turbo Cup French circulation title Chassis n°WPOZZ95ZJN101100 Engine n°M44/52-47J00909 - Road version with turbocharged racing engine of the 944 - French limited edition of only 104 units - Remarkable state of preservation - Recent general mechanical revision - Only 110 000 kilometers on the odometer - Service booklet and manual in their pocket 40 000 / 60 000 € If you think about Porsche, the image of the 911 appears instantly. However, many attempts have been made by the manufacturer to propose new models and many of them have met with undeniable success. The 928 is then an imposing and comfortable Grand Touring. The 911 is a demanding sports car. As for the 944, it was conceived with the aim of offering a car that would bring together the best of what the manufacturer knows how to do for the greatest number of people, which led to a wide variety of versions. When, in 1985, it was decided to add a turbo to its 4-cylinder engine with a cubic capacity of nearly 2500 cm3, Porsche's know-how in this area literally transformed the 944. The engine, entirely designed at Porsche, and the supercharging allow to develop 220 horsepower, offering to the car a very playful behavior, while preserving the comfort of its pilot in a cockpit with the complete equipment and lined with leather. In 1988, a limited series of the 944 Turbo appeared in an "S" or "Cup" version in France. Based on the competition model of the same name, the Turbo Cup now develops 250 horsepower thanks to a new turbo dedicated to it. In addition to this, there are many technical improvements from racing, a lowered suspension, adjustable dampers, brakes borrowed from the 928, a self-locking differential and even ABS. It also comes standard with all the options of the 944 Turbo. It now takes less than 6 seconds to reach 100 Km/h and its top speed exceeds 260 Km/h! All these improvements prefigure the 944 Turbo series 2. This special series was only produced in 1635 copies, of which only 104 Turbo Cup copies were reserved for the French market. Our 944 Turbo Cup is one of these rare gems delivered new in our country. It was delivered new to its first owner on April 14, 1988 by the Porsche Ravé d'Avrainville dealership in the Val d'Oise and put on the road the following May 5. He kept it until 1996, having done most of its mileage in the first years. It is presented in its original configuration, in "Silver Rose" metallic grey color with "Burgundy" interior in burgundy leatherette and matching checkerboard fabric. The "Turbo" sticker is still present on the right front fender, which confirms that the car has never been repainted. As well as its excellent general state of preservation, impressive even for a car with only 109833 kilometers on the odometer on the day of our test drive and over 30 years old. It has the option of ABS, air-conditioning and individually foldable rear seat backs, and it has kept its original luggage cover. It is accompanied by its service booklet, with many stamps from the original dealership where the car was serviced very regularly during the years following its delivery. In addition to the booklet and the various manuals in their pockets, the car's file also includes the order form for the engraving of the vintage windows and some invoices. These invoices testify to the care that its current owner - whose collection is not the only Porsche turbo - gave it less than 5,000 kilometers ago, and which will allow its future owner to take the road without worry. The interventions carried out included the replacement of the timing belt and the accessory belt, the water pump, spi seals and an engine, gearbox and axle oil change, as well as the change of the filters. The tires are also new. So this 944 Turbo Cup really has everything to please: it is a very rare edition, one of 104 examples of its series delivered new in France, in a superb state of preservation and accompanied by its original documentation. Moreover, it is not necessary to specify that Porsche Turbo's are more than ever on the rise!
