1963 - Renault Dauphine 1093 Ex Michel Hommell French circulation title Chassis n°67145 Body n° 1720 Engine n°670-05/161816 Gearbox n°330-02/10010 - The most exclusive Renault Dauphine, made for competition - Quality restoration in the Atelier du Manoir de l'Automobile - Little driven these last years, revision to be planned - Complete expertise report available 30 000 / 40 000 € The car of our auction is a genuine Dauphine 1093. Put on the road on July 30, 1963, it is equipped with drum brakes and sports the specific presentation of the series to which it belongs: the Réjane white with blue stripes that extend over the entire length, large diameter headlights, small side repeaters and chrome monograms "1093". The car has been registered in the Paris region since 1982, when Michel Hommell, a great fan of the brand, bought it in 1984. After having participated in the R8 Gordini Cups in the 1960s, he became a renowned editor, launching titles such as Echappement (in which the car will be the subject of an article), or Auto Hebdo, or Auto Passion, but he also and above all made a name for himself for the remarkable museum on the theme of classic and sports cars that he created: the Manoir de l'Automobile, in Lohéac. The car, which has probably already benefited from a body change, is then entirely restored in the museum's workshop. The engine is carefully restored with a rectified crankshaft, new bearings and rings, as well as the 1093's own dished pistons. The original gearbox is replaced by a four-speed synchronized gearbox from an Export version. The interior was also redone in accordance with the 1093 specifications: black dashboard for the 1963 model year and houndstooth pattern seats with brown leatherette, rev counter in place of the pocket on the left side of the steering wheel, adding sportiness and driving pleasure The work done was of good quality. So much so that the car is today, many years later, still in good general condition without being free of any defect, and even still displays a certain freshness. It will simply need to be serviced and tuned before it can be driven again, as it has hardly been driven in the last few years, even though the running-in period after the restoration has never been completed. Nevertheless, it seems to be ready to show its future owner all its qualities. A detailed appraisal report dating from 2022 is available on request for any interested party. A rare and high performance car, but also well restored and almost ready to race in all major competitions for a limited budget, this Dauphine 1093 is an unmissable opportunity for any racing enthusiast. Not to mention its prestigious provenance Please note that the car is running and rolling but sold to be restarted, without technical control.
