A precious ceremonial bodice in brocaded silk lampas, Indes Moghole or Persia, late 18th/early 19th centuries. Scalloped, double-breasted ladies' jacket with long, roll-up sleeves. Lampas in a brocaded border of floral and cream stripes surrounded by a rich braid of gold passementerie. Complete with six bell buttons. Cream cotton lining (soiled). Small stains and gaps, mainly at the shoulder fold and on the back. Rare piece. Average condition. Flat 54 cm high by 46 cm wide.
