As early as 1560, an edict by François II began to regulate and define the rules of law in the event of remarriage after the death of one of the spouses. In the 18th century, numerous jurists dealt with this subject. In this book, Astruc examines the irregularities that widows and widowers can be guilty of during or after the imposed mourning period, and determines the rights of children from a first marriage.
5. RODIÈRE (Aimé) and PONT (Paul): Traité du contrat de mariage et des droits respectifs des époux relativement à leurs biens. Also contains an examination of registration law as it relates to matrimonial agreements. Second edition. Paris, Delamotte, 1868-1869. 3 volumes.
