Collection of 7 19th century works on the Restoration: 1. (Contre-Révoluion). [LOURDOUEIX (Honoré de)]: De la restauration de la société française. A Paris, Aux Bureaux de la Gazette de France, 1833. One volume. 14 by 22.5 cm. (4)-584 pages. Paperback, in printed cover, untrimmed. Small restored tears on cover, scattered foxing. First edition. From 1830, H. de Lourdoueix "became the assiduous collaborator of his friend, N. de Genoude, at the Gazette de France. An ardent but sincere polemicist, he placed himself among what were then known as the heresiarchs of legitimacy, or Voltairians of the right, who strove to combine religious and legitimist traditions with the philosophical and liberal tendencies of their time. Thus, at a time when the other parties were confining themselves to calling for simple electoral reform, M. de Lourdoueix was putting forward the principle of the sovereignty of the people, and calling with all his might for universal suffrage."
