FAVIER (Alphonse): PÉKING. History and description. Paris, Desclée de Brouwer, 1900. One volume. 22 by 29.5 cm. 416 pages, profusely illustrated with 524 engravings in the text. Vintage red half-chagrin with corners, 5 raised bands, gilt head, decorated boards. Rubbing on the nerves, two small stains on the 1st plate, epidermure at the bottom of the spine (not serious). Freckling mainly concentrated on the margins of the 14 leaves of photographic reproductions. A fine copy nonetheless. A classic, with a wealth of information, and very well illustrated, here in its new edition.
