H. POUEYMIDANET: Collection of over 300 copies of letters on - Lot 242
H. POUEYMIDANET: Collection of over 300 copies of letters on greaseproof paper, for the period 1926-1928. 21.5 by 27 cm. 370 pages used (130 blank). Bound in a register titled: copies of letters. Wear to boards, light wetness at top of pages (not severe). Mix of professional and personal correspondence, with an intense political element. There are 42 letters to Charles MAURRAS, 10 to Marshal FOCH, 18 to the Duc de Guise, 5 to the Comte de Paris, 13 to the Duchesse de Guise, Reine de France, 2 to the Duc d'orléans, Weygand, etc., and one to Poincarré. And one to Poincarré, and one to Edouard Herriot. The author, firmly committed to the radical Right at the time, doesn't mince his words in opposing Judeo-Masonic tyranny, and in support of Royalism. "The banner of revolt is raised against God by the race that crucified Jesus Christ". An example of the political violence of the interwar period. And an illustration of the importance of correspondence for the personalities of the period. The copies were made using a "carbon paper" process. It sometimes takes a little patience to read a copy of a letter. An alphabetical table lists the addressees at the end of the volume, with the page number of the letter. A precious testimonial...
