[JOU (Louis)] RABELAIS. Works. Paris, Nice, Imperatur, 1951–1952. 3 in-4 volumes in loose-leaf format, illustrated hardcover, with the publisher’s slipcase and dust jacket. One edge of the slipcase for vol. 3 is split.
65 headbands, 260 ornate initials, 84 end-piece illustrations, 136 en-text engravings, and 20 full-page woodcuts by Louis Jou.
Printed in an edition of 275 copies; this one is one of 125 printed on pure Marais rag paper (without the additional woodcut(s) listed), enhanced with a large ORIGINAL WATERCOLOR signed by Louis Jou.
