Color compositions by Georges Antoine Rochegrosse, etched by Eugène Decisy (frontispiece, 5 hors-texte illustrations, and 24 illustrations within the text). Printed in an edition of 350 copies. This copy, No. 168, is on Arches vellum and features two states of all the etchings (reserved for copies on Japanese paper): a black-and-white state with a note on Arches and a pre-letter color state with notes on Japanese paper; 9 proofs and the illustrated subscription prospectus in two states (vellum & Japanese paper).
