1977 - Peugeot 504 V6 coupe - Lot 57
1977 - Peugeot 504 V6 coupe French circulation title Chassis n°02534224 Bodywork n°B03983 - Line signed Pininfarina - V6 PRV engine - Typical seventies configuration - 15 inches aluminium rims - Very nice general condition of presentation and operation - Recent work Starting with the 404, the Sochaux-based company, for which the coupé and cabriolet versions derived from the sedan are a tradition, entrusted their design to Pininfarina. The bodywork thus created is completely different from that of the sedan, and for the 504 it is a real master stroke. In 1969 the 504 is transformed from a wise four-door sedan into a slender coupe worthy of the transalpine productions. This elegance is underlined in the cabin by a cosseted upholstery and a beautiful quality of completion. Over the course of the model's career, the shape evolved but retained all the elegance of the initial design. Aesthetically, at the front the double square headlights are grouped in a single block and at the rear also with the abandonment of the three inclined light bars in favor of a single block also. Mechanically, at the end of 1970, the four-cylinder 1.8L engine was reduced to 2L for 104 horsepower and in 1974, the 504 moved upmarket with the abandonment of this engine in favor of the marketing of the 6-cylinder version, equipped with the V6 PRV of 136 horsepower. This engine is fed by two carburetors. In 1977, the 2L four-cylinder engine was reintroduced with 106 horsepower, while the V6 disappeared from the catalog on the convertible body and fuel injection was introduced on both engines. Equipped with a noble engine with the V6, the 504 coupe offers performances that match its design and a very pleasant road behavior. These characteristics make it one of the most appreciated and sought-after classics of the Lion brand. The Peugeot 504 that we present for sale is a desirable V6 coupe with carburetors and a 4-speed manual gearbox. It has a typical livery of this model, very fashionable at the time of its release: "smoke grey metallic" with matching velvet upholstery. The car is equipped with 15-inch aluminum wheels with central clamping hub. According to the Histovec report it would have had only three owners before the current one acquired it from an automotive professional in 2019. This 504 V6 coupe received a well-executed paint veil in the past and has a beautiful original interior. The velvet upholstery has barely any patina. Only a small tear on the back of the passenger seat in the upper part is to be noticed. The car is running very well. Considering its general condition, it has obviously always benefited from a careful maintenance. Recently, the headlights have been changed, the clutch has been redone and the radiator replaced; as well as the engine mounts and various hoses, and some minor electrical work has been done. The carburetion has also been revised, including the adjustment of the carburetors. The 5 digits counter shows today just under 43300 km, corresponding most certainly to an original km of the car of 143300 km. In less than 3 years the owner has driven the car a little more than 4700 km, including the Stuttgart/Lyon-Charbonnières rally last fall. It is therefore a healthy 504 V6 coupe, reliable and really ready to drive that the one of this vacation. In short, a real Peugeot with the heart of a lion!
